Ravindra Joshi

The print fraternity mourns the passing of Ravindra Joshi, a towering figure whose presence was defined not by demand for attention but by warmth, conviction, and quiet strength. His life was a testament to leadership rooted in trust, generosity, and vision.

Joshi’s journey was marked by his unwavering support for innovation. He was known for his decisiveness and encouragement of new ideas. When presented with a system to analyse machine downtime, he listened intently, asked sharp and insightful questions, and without hesitation offered his wholehearted support. That simple yes reflected his style — forward-thinking, fearless, and empowering.

From that moment began not only a professional association but also a friendship that spanned more than two and a half decades. He built relationships on mutual respect, candid conversations, and shared dreams for the industry. His greatness lay in creating opportunities for others, entrusting responsibilities, and ensuring that those around him grew alongside him.

Joshi played a pivotal role in landmark initiatives such as the PPOA Centenary Year celebrations, the NAEP Award judging process, and the Pamex promotion team, where he strengthened industry outreach through roadshows across six cities. He also championed knowledge-sharing through the Adoptech Technical International Conference, believing that technology awareness was essential for the future of print. Beyond institutional contributions, he engaged colleagues professionally, offering them meaningful roles and responsibilities that shaped careers and lives.

Despite his stature, he remained approachable, lively, and deeply human. His ready smile, subtle humour, and genuine care made him a cherished companion. He valued relationships over transactions and celebrated the growth of others as much as his own.

The industry has lost not just a leader, but a guiding force, someone who bridged tradition and modernity, vision and execution. For his friends and colleagues, his memory will remain a source of strength and inspiration.

Ravindra Joshi was more than a name. He was a presence, a force, and a heart. His legacy lives on in the countless individuals he uplifted and the institutions he strengthened.

The print industry salutes him with gratitude, pride, and deep respect.
