Rajendra Kumar Anayath granted Honorary Colonel in NCC

Professor (Dr) Rajendra Kumar Anayath, vice-chancellor of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Murthal, Sonepat in Haryana has been granted Honorary Colonel in National Cadet Corps (NCC). The government of India conferred the honours in a bid to promote NCC activities in the university.

Lt General Rajeev Chopra, PVSM, AVSM, director general, National Cade Corps and Colonel of the Madras Regiment sent a letter to Anayath which stated that Government of India has granted Anayath the rank of Honorary Colonel and the appointment of Colonel Commandant in National Cadet Corps (NCC), for the duration of his office as vice-chancellor of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology.

In the armed forces, the ‘Colonel Commandant’ is an honour conferred upon distinguished and very senior officers. We in the NCC are proud of your association with us. We look forward to your patronage and purposeful association for the furtherance of NCC activities. I trust that this appointment will bring you in closer contact with the NCC units in your university and enable you to interact with our officers and cadets to help and guide them to uphold the ideals of the NCC.

Anayath said, “It’s an another proud moment for me as a teacher and printer that I have been officially  conferred Honorary Colonel by Government of India and also appointed as the Colonel Commandant of NCC in this region till my appointment continue as  vice-chancellor of  DCRUST university. The Honorary Colonel rank will remain with me forever and I shall cherish the same till the last moment of my life. Thank you so much for your support, love and care.”
