Speaking to PrintWeek India, Randall Freeman, vice president and general manager of packaging at QuadTech said, “Over the years, the Indian printing industry has evolved with the adoption of faster presses and today there is increased requirement of quality, automation and colour consistency.”

The Color Quality Solution simplifies colour preparation in packaging printing with in-line spectral data obtained from QuadTech’s SpectralCam, ink formulation data from X-Rite and ink dispensing technology from Huber Group or other ink dispensing system suppliers. This provides a standard spectral colour measurement throughout the ink dispensing and printing stages.

Freeman said, “We are very excited to be taking part in China Print, as it is the major print exhibition for a region in which the prospects for growth are strong. In particular, the continued fast-pace growth of consumer purchasing power is benefiting the packaging converting industry.”

“We continue to have good success with our register controls in the Indian market and are evaluating the opportunities for colour management in the packaging segment,” added Freeman.

Another new addition to the newspaper portfolio is the addition of automated, on-the-fly water control management to the Color Control and Web Inspection System with AccuCam.

“This automatically adjusts ink and water levels at make-ready and full press speed to reduce the occurrence of common newspaper printing problems such as scumming, creasing, transposed plates, plate crack-outs, and tramlines,” concluded Freeman.
