PUR Book Maker 2015: Pragati Offset
Quality Awards |
07 Oct 2015 | By PrintWeek India
For Pragati, this is the second PrintWeek India Award this year, and its fourth consecutive PUR Award, since the Award was instituted in 2012.
Pragati’s four samples, Asian Paints’ Edutone, Wood Stain Colourscope, Carizza for Shah Luxury and The Imperial Edge for SD Corp all had critical binding elements, which was well accomplished with the use of PUR binding. Run lengths of the books ranged from 500 to 5,000 prints.
The judges were looking for finest implementation of PUR hotmelt adhesive, and the parameters used for picking up the winner were durability, minimal wrinkling on the backbone and lay-flat quality.
While Pragati achieved all these, its execution in the making of the bound books stood out, regardless of the thumb-cut on the side of Edutone or the different width pages of Colourscope or the gloss laminated inner pages of Carizza. “The only way Carizza could be perfect bound was through the use of PUR,” said Pragati.
One of the judges explained, “It reflects the company’s passion for delivering a unique experience to its client.”
