The company also offers products in other segments, such as food grade (range of FDA compliant papers); decor grade (for surfacing and printing applications); crepe tissue and towels (with good wet strength, quick absorbency, and high water holding capacity); specialty grade (in both machine finish and machine glaze variety); and others.

Established in 1964, the company, known for its premium specialty grade paper, has a production capacity of 60,000 tpa, the highest from one location in the country. The mill can produce paper from the range of 12 gsm to 150 gsm. The papers are FSC certified.

The glassine paper is manufactured by a process called super calendaring in which the paper web after passing through pressing and drying section of the paper machine is passed through a stack of alternating steel and fiber-covered rolls.

Super White Glassine is a higher version of glassine paper, which has higher transparency, smoothness, gloss and oil hold out as compared to the glassine paper.

Super calendared Kraft paper is a very dense paper, which provides an excellent base for silicone coating in label application. With the uniform caliper, it has superior die-cut ability.

Anant Hegde, manager, sales and marketing, Pudumjee Pulp and Paper Mills, said, “Expanding our business will be our first priority in future. Besides, whatever we get from the market, we will do our best with that.”
