PrintWeek Awards 2025: Lynx Designers & Creators wins Innovative Printer of the Year (PET, LDPE, HDPE, PVC, PP, PS, metal/glass)

For Zara Home, the company developed a five-foot collapsible honeycomb Christmas tree, built in three modular parts that interlock for easy assembly and compact storage. The honeycomb structure expands into a full 3D form, mimicking the grandeur of a traditional tree while using only a fraction of the material.

The project relied less on print and more on precision engineering. CAD-based die-lines ensured accuracy in folding, while FSC-certified white paper was laminated, die-cut, and folded into place. No conventional press was required, with the craftsmanship evident in the post-press shaping and crease folding. Edges were finished with glitter for a celebratory look and the design allows for foil or printed versions in future runs. The tree can also be produced in GRS-certified handmade paper from recycled cotton fabric, eliminating tree pulp entirely.

The jury described the entry as “an elegant marriage of design and sustainability,” applauding Lynx for “reimagining seasonal décor in a way that is festive, reusable, and eco-conscious.”
