Ramit Bhatnagar, chief operating officer, MJ Global, told PrintWeek, “We were facing a lot of requests from customers for faster sampling. Earlier, we were processing samples with longer lead time. However, in today’s competitive environment, customers want quick turnaround as far as samples are concerned. This is why we decided to get a sample maker.”

He added, “With this machine, we will be able to deliver multiple options in a short period. This will help us close the deal and get the order quickly,” he added.

This is MJ Global’s first Kongsberg machine. The company did a two-month research before zeroing in on the Kongsberg X series kit.

Kongsberg also confirmed that Pragati Offset has also signed a deal to purchase a Kongsberg machine during the show.

According to Muhammad Rafiq Shaikh, sales leader, APAC, Kongsberg Systems, the X series machine comes with a size of 5x7.5-ft. The machine is specially designed to cater to manufacturers of E-flute and F-flute boxes.

Shaikh said the machine is best suited for corrugation, folding carton, kappa board, PVC and other applications. “The machine is durable and robust. It will be used for sampling at MJ Global, but it can also be used for short-run jobs,” he added.

He claims that the software bundled with the machine reduces the learning curve of the user. So far, more than 200 installations of the machine have been done in India.
