PrintPack 2019: Pratham Technologies to highlight 18- fold outserts folding kit

Pune-based folding machine specialist, Pratham Technologies will highlight its 18- fold outsert folding kit at PrintPack India 2019.

According to Datta Deshpande, chairman, Pratham Technologies, the machine can be purchased as a single unit or in components. “All the components are compatible with similar setups of other manufacturers and this makes it a cost-effective solution. The top clients using outsert systems are Indra Yadav, Art In Art, Om Xpress, MGK Ltd (Russia) (12-fold), and Kay Art Printer.”

Besides the outserts system, Pratham will also showcase insert folding machine with camera and ejector. This is an 18-inch width eightfold folding machine with cross buckle folding machine. Plus an inland letter folding machine for mass mailing and IPV ProofCheck software.

Deshpande, added, “In the last two years, we have developed folding machines for the paper width of 530mm, earlier the maximum width used to be 450mm. We have also focused on developing outserts machines and accessories like a parallel knife, taping machine, and vertical stacker, among others.  We have also developed a diamond packet folding machine to cater the requirements of diamond traders in Surat.”

“We have also developed the new version of IPV ProofCheck software to cross-check the print with the approved artwork in PDF. This is extremely useful for pharmaceutical leaflets and cartons.”

The machine includes a round pile feeder, across buckle fold machine, a stacker, a camera system and double sheet ejector, among other features.

Pratham Technologies has installed 126 machine sets in the year 2018, added Deshpande. 

Its top customers in past two years include Hi-Tech Printing Services, Mumbai; Noble Printing Press, Mumbai; Budhraja Packaging, Mumbai; Kumar Printers, Manesar; Essentra Packaging, Bengaluru; Nice Prints, Bengaluru; Kay Arts, New Delhi; Rukson Packaging, Navi Mumbai; Sheth Impression, Vasai; and Baxter Pharma, Ahmedabad among others.

“The exports business has seen a boost in the current fiscal year. We are now catering to more than 15 countries worldwide including Europe and USA. We will achieve a 30% revenue share from exports. We plan to double our exports in the next two years,” said Deshpande.

In the past two years, Pratham has exported machines to T T Print, Estonia; Dekha Press, Egypt; Kamal Press, Bangladesh; Dot Printers, Kenya; A. J. Printing & Packaging Ltd, Uganda; OOO Rubikon, Belarus, to name a few.

Talking about the dynamics of the Indian print market, Deshpande said, "Looking at the trends in the market, there will be more mergers and acquisitions in the future. This will make the print sector much more organised. The print exports will also grow and the quality requirements of the multinational print houses will become more stringent. The Indian equipment manufactures will have to gear up the quality of equipment in terms of reliability, durability, aesthetics, and features."
