Enhancing the learning experience for students in the post-pandemic era, Paperworld India 2022 will strongly focus on ‘back-to-school’ items by displaying an exhaustive range of products in school stationery.

Fueled by a burgeoning young population, India stands out as a competitive market for school and office stationery. Despite the rise of digital learning platforms, the Indian stationery industry has grown into an Rs 4,000-crore market. Furthermore, stationery trends have continued to evolve over time alongside the changing priorities of consumers.

A lot has changed over the last couple of decades, as brand consciousness has substantially permeated the psyche of Indian consumers. Today, parents are willing to spend slightly more in order to provide a good quality stationery product to their children. School stationery brands, therefore, are in a constant race to innovate and improve the quality and functionality of their products, in order to make them more appealing to the modern generation of school-goers.

Even in the domain of office supplies, the stationery industry has emerged quite flexible and adaptive. When offices were under lockdown, the industry had shifted its focus to work-from-home oriented products to maintain business continuity and tend to new consumer demands.

The alarming concern for the environment has also brought attention to eco-conscious or sustainable stationery. Not only papers but even pens, compass boxes and other writing instruments are being recycled today. This not only contributes to ecological preservation but also allows manufacturers to significantly reduce their expenditure by repurposing discarded products, instead of acquiring new raw materials.

While Indian stationery had been a disorganised sector in the past, increasing influx of both domestic and foreign brands, an uptrend in buying patterns and excessive cash inflow in the market are gradually transforming it into a highly lucrative business ground.

In the stationery industry, recycling and repurposing of paper products are common practices but there is one Indian brand that has taken it to the next level. Participating at Paperworld India 2022, Jalebi is renowned for producing made in India plantable products, including notebooks, cards, pencils, eye masks and even eco-friendly fatakas (Diwali bombs) that can germinate and sprout into plants after use. The brand also promotes personalised gift boxes including a diary, notebook, pen-pencil holder and pencils. The entire kit including the box itself is plantable, thereby serving as a perfect eco-friendly solution.

As an inspiration in sustainable stationery production, Pinnacle Enterprises segregates and recycles discarded materials such as waste plastic and burnt paper into a wide range of products like Bahi notebooks, fabric notebooks, handmade files and folders, leather notebooks, handmade pen holders, handmade paper bags and handmade diaries. As an exhibitor at Paperworld India 2022, the company will display a plethora of the latest recycled handicrafts on the show floor.

FCE Lifestyles LAMY will curate an exhaustive range of smart writing instruments from LAMY Safari, including LAMY dialog cc which is an ergonomically designed cap-less fountain pen. This innovative fountain pen has a shortened upper part with a refined closing plaque and roller brake instead of a clip.
