Pamex roadshow in Guwahati discusses trends

Pamex 2023 saw its first promotional event kickoff in Guwahati with an interactive technical conference on 27 November. The event by the All-India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), All Assam Press Owners’ Association, the North East Print Tech and Print-Packaging.com was hosted alongside the North East Print Tech Exhibition (NEPT) at the Maniram Diwan Trade Centre in Guwahati.

More than 170 delegates had registered for the conference

As per the organisers, more than 170 delegates had registered for the conference which aimed at discussing the benefits of applying convergence in print. 

The panel discussion, held on the subject of Emerging trends the way forward, saw an in-depth discussion on what convergence means for them and how the print industry is leading the way. The session was moderated by  Raghabendra Dutta Baruah who is the general secretary of AIFMP as well as the director of Seven Star Publication. The panellists were Manu Choudhary of CDC Printers in Kolkata; Jumi Deka Choudhary of Rumi Jumi Enterprises in Guwahati; Raj Kamal Gohain of Innovia Packaging Solutions in Guwahati; and Alok Hazarika of Konica Minolta in Kolkata.

The panel discussion was followed by a presentation by Aloke Hazarika about the future of digital printing. Hazarika spoke about the adoption and extensive application of digital printing and also shared his thoughts on practical steps towards growth and profitability. Later, Samarendra Dash, who is the deputy general manager at TechNova Imaging Systems spoke about the next opportunities in print. Dash’s focus was enhancing offset and integrating digital, he also spotlighted 3D technology.

After which, Vikas Verma of Monotech Systems shared his insights on Beyond CMYK: an inevitable facet of print’ According to Verma, the marketers valued print enhancement and embellishments and the top five reasons was, it gives brand a premium look, captures attention of recipients, stands out from competition, enhances brand image and increases response rates.

The final talk of the conference was conducted by Surendra Dhote, who is the MD of Bharat Lithographing in Kolkata who gave an insight about Green Press and Waste Control.

The technical conference was inaugurated by Raveendra Joshi, the president of AIFMP and Raghabendra Dutta Baruah, who is the general secretary of AIFMP as well as the director of Seven Star Publication. In addition, there was Pranab Talukdar, president of North East Print Tech and Dibyajyoti Kalita, the president of All Assam Press Owners Association. The technical conference was followed by a networking lunch and a visit to the NEPT exhibition.

The next stop for the Pamex 2023 roadshow is Ahmedabad on 9 December. This will be followed by Pune on 23 December, and thereafter Haridwar, Indore and Bengaluru.
