Messe Frankfurt India to host RMSI virtual summit this month

As the economy in urban markets has witnessed a downtrend due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a range of business sectors including corporates, retail, eCommerce and automobiles are venturing into emerging rural markets. Thus, in a view to recognise these opportunities, Messe Frankfurt India is set to host the second edition of Rural Market Summit India (RMSI) as a virtual event on 26 November 2020. ​

Rural Market Summit India is slated for 26 November 2020

The virtual summit will be inaugurated by union minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi, who will talk about policies and initiatives to accelerate India’s rural economy. He will be accompanied by industry members such as Chetna Sinha of Mann Deshi Bank and Mann Deshi Foundation, Dinesh Tyagi of e-Governance Services India, K Ullas Kamath of Jyothy Laboratories and Zarina Screwvala of Swades Foundation. 

With the easy availability of land and labour, increasing internet connectivity, and widespread digital platforms and telecommunication networks, India’s rural markets possess major potential waiting to be tapped by business investors. Hence, the one-day virtual summit will address key strategies and policies to strengthen the rural ecosystem with a focus on physical and digital connectivity and financial initiatives as key drivers to accelerate holistic rural development. 

The conference will also address key topics such as enabling financial inclusion in rural India, rethinking and decoding rural market strategies, understanding the term "phygital" through rural retail and eCommerce, building financial and business literacy in rural India and exploring the emerging agricultural technology market opportunities

According to the organiser, the event will be beneficial for policymakers, rural business leaders, banking and payment experts, supply chain heads, investors, tech companies, entrepreneurs, marketing heads and retail experts among others. RMSI will enable the audiences to re-imagine business strategies and innovation for rural consumers through panel discussions, live question and answer sessions, exclusive presentations and digital knowledge tracks.
