Rajeev Batra, chairman, Magic International, said, “Every industry is competitive today. The only way to stay ahead in such a scenario is by offering premium quality products and driving operational efficiency. With the new Lithrone GL-437 presses, we aim to do exactly that, enhancing our quality, reducing maintenance, and improving turnaround times, all the while keeping profit margins in check.”

With its deep-rooted legacy of book printing business dated back to 1950, Magic International has long been recognised for its strong focus on the publishing and OEM stationery segments.

“My father who migrated from Pakistan in 1947 during the partition time started our business as a small book binding unit in old Delhi. He upgraded it with the addition of printing activity in which I and my brothers had also joined. Then the rest is a history of what all it gradually took to become today’s Magic International,” Batra said.

Today, with its capacity to produce 100,000 bound books, five million envelopes per day, fully-automated spiral binding for notebooks, and a growing international clientele across the US, UK, and the Middle East, Magic International continues to scale new heights in business from one level to another.

Highlighting the compelling reasons for choosing the couple of new Komori presses, Batra said, “We’ve had several presses from another reputed brand, but Komori offers unmatched values, right from lower acquisition costs and compact footprint to energy efficiency and reliable performance. Nowadays, costs of spare parts for some brands become exorbitant. In this, Komori gives us peace of mind.”

Packed with advanced features and capabilities, the Lithrone GL437 is purpose-built for high-volume book printing, which eventually meets the needs of Magic International. This Komori press handles sheet sizes up to 620×930-mm at the speeds up to 15,000-sph.

Beyond printing, Magic International has also made significant investments in finishing lines including perfect binders and sewing machines with strategic expansion of its automated stationery production. Sustainability is also in the company’s priority list. On this front, Magic International has fitted a full ETP plant and solar power installations ensuring eco-friendly operations.

“Each year, we endeavour to grow. We don’t push ourselves for it as the opportunity and momentum seem to find us involuntarily. What we do in this is just to make sure that we’re prepared to serve our customers better than ever,” Batra said.

With a near 50:50 ratio between domestic business and exports, Magic International continues to build on its strength and adapt to the evolving needs and increasing demands of global clients. To boost production volumes, the company is planning to set up a new and bigger production facility at a nearby location in Delhi-NCR.
