India’s label industry leaders will mark the Label Manufacturers Association of India's (LMAI) 25th anniversary at its biennial conference, themed "Emerging Beyond Boundaries," held from 3 to 6 July 2025 at Hotel Fairmont in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The seventh edition of the LMAI conference aims to examine the industry's growth trajectory, technological innovation, and sustainability strategies amid rapidly shifting market demands.

India’s label industry is experiencing robust expansion. According to industry reports, the sector is valued at USD 2.3-billion and is projected to reach USD 3.6-billion by 2025, reflecting an annual growth rate of 7.3%. Rising demand for differentiation in packaging, compliance labelling in pharmaceuticals, and the boom in eCommerce packaging have propelled this growth. Additionally, India's pressure-sensitive labels market alone is anticipated to grow from USD 6.65-billion in 2024 to nearly USD 11-billion by 2032, further underlining the sector’s economic significance.

Rajesh Chadha, president of LMAI, explains the timely relevance of the conference, noting that the event "will act as a catalyst for transformation within the industry," pushing manufacturers to adopt forward-thinking approaches and sustainable practices.

Manish Desai, chairman of the LMAI conference, stressed the theme's importance, highlighting that "'Emerging Beyond Boundaries' is about breaking barriers and setting new benchmarks for innovation and quality."

Registration for the conference is open.

Jaideep Singh, who is also the conference chairman, added, "This gathering will enable industry stakeholders to explore emerging technological advancements, which are crucial to staying globally competitive."

Currently, LMAI has over 350 members. LMAI has been instrumental in driving the self-adhesive label industry in India, utilising narrow web production in letterpress, flexo, dry offset, and screen technology.

On 2 June 2025, LMAI organised a Meet and Greet event, allowing top industry sponsors to engage and get updates on the event's developments.

The conference agenda includes expert-led sessions, interactive workshops, and discussions on sustainable manufacturing practices, digital transformation, and regulatory challenges. “At the conference, industry professionals will gather insights into strategies to navigate emerging trends and technologies, reinforcing the Indian label sector’s position in the global marketplace,” concluded Desai.
