It’s ‘Showtime’ on Heidelberg’s 23 June virtual event

The German print equipment manufacturer, Heidelberg is hosting its next virtual event on 23 June 2021 with a slogan – It’s Showtime. The international digital customer event will, as the teaser video – Expect Something Big, Heidelberg has been running on the PrintWeek platform, will showcase some new and enhanced offerings in the commercial, packaging, and label segment.

Anyone anywhere in the world who wishes to take part in the free event, which is being held in eight different languages at various times during the day, in parallel with the China Print trade show in Beijing, can do so by registering here.

“Innovation is a must and an ongoing process for Heidelberg in its role as a technology leader, so we’re already presenting our latest innovation initiative to customers – just nine months or so after our successful Innovation Week last fall,” says Heidelberg’s head of global sales and marketing Ludwig Allgoewer.

Heidelberg will highlight products from partners Polar and Masterwork, with sponsors IST Metz, Jindal, Kurz, Univacco, Kocher + Beck, Marbach, Buchamann Karton, Jeco, and Stocklin also showcasing its products.

Alongside the event on June 23, Heidelberg specialists will be on hand worldwide for one-to-one in-depth discussions with participants about the presentations. Indian print service providers will be able to talk to Lalit Kumar Lamba, product head – sheetfed solutions at Heidelberg.”

According to Samir Patkar, president of Heidelberg India, technology has always been a focal point at Heidelberg. “Over the last five years, we have connected 5,000 presses via the cloud and have done a detailed study as well as a deep analysis on the actual requirements needed to boost and reduce the – Yellow bar – and increase the overall equipment efficiency (OEE) while reducing touchpoints and downtimes

At the event, packaging as well as print embellishment is expected to be the major focus area, given the slew of partners who operate in that space.

Patkar said, “There has been a rapid change in the print and packaging market since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The print and packaging world is changing and growing in complexity as the demand for safe and economical packaging is growing with reduced touchpoints. The demand for packaging services and manufacturing capabilities is being driven by several new trends across pharmaceutical and healthcare markets including dose compliance, tracking, and tracing and the increasing technical complexities being introduced to help make products more patient-centric.”

He added, “Most of our machines now designed to think and act smarter with the help of artificial intelligence. At the show, expect more innovations.”
