This installation makes Interlabels the biggest user of Gidue in India.

According to Interlabels, the purchase was made to cater the increasing demand of label printing.

Gautam Kothari, managing director at Interlabels Industries, said: “We already had four Gidue presses in our plants located at different locations in Chennai, Vasai (Mumbai), Baddi and Kolkata. We have trusted the technology and our operators are very comfortable using Gidue presses.”

The Vasai plant of Interlabels provided 35%-40% of the services for the print requirement of the North market.

Kothari added: “The Gidue will produce quality labels and enable the company to expand its turnover, which is currently on target. With the installation of the fifth Gidue, we expect 20% of growth in production. The new press will assist the continued growth of label production and will reduce lead time by increasing the production capacity.”

The label sector has been a growth area for Interlabels Industries. Kothari claimed that better quality at faster production rate will ensure Interlabels has the capacity to meet the market demand.

Besides the new Gidue press, Interlabels has also invested in a second brand-new AVT defect detection system and one HP Indigo digital press.

Kothari's plan is to continue to market the business's services effectively, while benefiting from word of mouth and customer referrals.

“Our objective is not to be a victim of our own success. I want the highest quality of product, delivered at the agreed time, to the right place,” Kothari added.

Interlabels operates from five locations - Chennai, Vasai near Mumbai, Baddi, Kolkata and Nairobi. It has a team of 200 which looks into labels for cosmetics, toiletries, lubes, pharmaceutical, beverages, chemicals and detergents.
