S Satish, global head, sales and marketing, Cosmo Films, is positive about the growth of the industry.

Established in 1981, Cosmo Films is the world’s largest thermal lamination film manufacturer with five factories in India, US and Korea. We have nine BOPP film lines (136,000 MTpa) and 10 extrusion coating lines for manufacturing thermal lamination films (40,000 MTpa). We have a customer base in 80 countries worldwide.

Forecast for 2017
We are actually in an expansion mode with the commissioning of our tenth BOPP line scheduled for the first quarter 2017. This will add almost 40% to our existing capacity. We are positive about the growth of the industry and strongly believe that demonetisation is a temporary setback and the industry will bounce back soon.

Response to change
The lamination industry itself has been through a huge transformation when the technology moved from wet lamination to thermal lamination, which is much faster, cleaner and environment friendly. We were one of the pioneers of thermal lamination film and among the first to commercialise the same. Similarly with digital printing gaining ground rapidly we are one of the first to introduce a universal digital lamination film which can be used for lamination of digitally printed material using any digital printing technology/make.
