Focus on sustainability on Day Five of InkWeek

Industry experts will address some of the pressing issues pertaining to sustainability on Day Five of InkWeek on 25 March 2022

Sustainability is the new buzzword in town. Today, every business is expected to be sustainable, and thus, every business is working towards making itself sustainable. But sustainability comes at a cost. So, the million-dollar question is, are we really doing enough? Or is it just a feel-good factor? Where does sustainability begin, and where does it end?

These and other pertinent questions will be discussed by the invited experts on Day Five of the InkWeek event organised by PrintWeek/WhatPackaging? from 21 to 25 March 2022.    

During the event, Dr KA Arul Anand, joint director (technical), designated officer-central licensing (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh), FSSAI, will speak about the food standards authority’s recent initiatives on food safety.

Plus a keynote address by Uflex's Manas Sarkar about plastic waste followed by a panel discussion that has four eminent speakers discuss: the nuts and bolts of sustainability ...

Ramakrishna Karanth, CEO, Siegwerk India, will speak about the company’s initiatives into making eco-friendly inks which are free of harmful chemicals like toluene and mineral oils.

Medha Tadpatrikar, director, Rudra Environmental Solution, Medha Tadpatrikar will speak on the importance of segregating plastic waste and the possibility of turning plastic into fuel. Established in 2009, Rudra Environmental Solution has been involved in research of converting waste plastic into fuel technology through the thermo catalytic depolymerisation process. The first pilot plant was established in March 2010, a second-generation plant in 2013 and now its patented, third-generation plant is running successfully in the company's own factory in Jejuri MIDC area.
