“We were planning for a CTP to stop our outsourcing of printing plates. We need printing plates for quality jobs, hence, we went for thermal and Heidelberg is our reliable partner,” said Hitesh Mittal, the director at Florid.

The company has also recently acquired a local pre-press bureau. “Thus, we produce around 400 printing plates per day, around 20% of which we consume for in-house demand,” he added.

The Mittal brothers operate in Punjab and Chandigarh, specialising in trade and reference books, magazines and periodicals, commercial and publicity material, labels, folding-carton packaging for food, healthcare, detergents, beverages and liquids, FMCG, wedding cards, and trousseau packing, among others. The company is planning to target more quality and confidential jobs with in-house printing plates exposing system.

Explaining about the Proman, Mittal said, “The process is now as simple as using any online subscription service, thanks to Proman.  Besides, with the brilliant pay-per-use subscription model unleashed by Heidelberg, we pay only for utilised resources. Automated and integrated production with cost benefits is definitely a value perk for any customer.”

He added, “Suprasetter A106 offers a compelling advantage for print shops looking to migrate to high-quality thermal CTP with minimal investment. The A106 facilitates perfect plate production at low service costs, because of its Modular Design Imaging Technology. A simple, one-button operation makes it easy to use the Suprasetter A106, which can accommodate a wide range of temperature and humidity variations. Remote diagnostics is an added benefit from Heidelberg.”

Heidelberg has been adopting a radical approach, which  allow printers to make monthly payments for the use of Prinect based on production volume. This gives printers access to the complete scope of Prinect Production software functions, allowing configuration flexibility without increase in costs.

Sunil Kumar, senior territory manager - Heidelberg India, said, “Florid is our key customer. The recent investment in Suprasetter A106 builds upon its Speedmaster SX-74 they bought last year. This completes the circle from pre-press through post-press.”
