Fine Art Printer 2015: Marvel Graphic Studio
Quality Awards |
07 Oct 2015 | By PrintWeek India
Marvel Graphic Studio has been on the winning side of this Award category for the last four times, and by making it a fifth time, it has created a record of sorts, becoming the first company to win a category award for five consecutive times.
The serigraph, titled By the Sea by artist Natu Parikh reflects emotions of absolute serenity, soulfulness and hues of life, but the size and the medium to express it was different. “We tried to bring a similar dimension as Natu Parikh had given, to enjoy the beauty of colours, composition, light and perspective,” said the company.
The other serigraphs include Essence of DDLJ, the hand-signed limited edition of the longest running film in Indian cinema, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange, by Ravindra Salve, Virasat by Natu Mistry and art posters for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, the Indian crime thriller film.
Describing the Essence of DDLJ, Dhanvi Shah of Marvel said, “Working with acrylic on canvas and bringing the similar effect on every stage in a serigraph (converting serigraph into a fine art work) needed a completely different approach and technique. That we have been able to bring that artistic/fine art approach in this serigraph is what makes us happy.”
By sticking to the artistic approach and elements as in the original paintings, one must say, Marvel has ushered in fine arts into serigraphy. One judge exclaimed, “These things of beauty are a joy forever.”
