FIG is the sole India distributor of international brands like Mark Andy, Rhyguan, Rotoflex, Luster, Kluge, KDS Quantum, and Presstek.

“We have supplied flexo presses and allied machines in India for the last 23 years. Headquartered in New Delhi, we have branches in Mumbai and Chennai, backed by a team of 42 well-trained and experienced technical and marketing professionals,” Gourav Roy, managing director, FIG, said.

Roy said, in the last 2-3 years, FIG has carried out several installations of Rotoflex and Mark Andy presses as main products. The company boasts a clientele of 322 customers in India.

He added, “Today, the flexo market is quite mature with full of opportunities and possibilities. So, FIG has been constantly developing and extending training processes to machine operators. In fact, we are planning to launch training courses, which will include hands-on training programmes and theoretical classes.”

The event was also attended by representatives from FIG’s principals, namely, Manohar Dhugga, director of engineering and service, Rotoflex; Phil Baldwin, European sales manager, Mark Andy; and Krisyanto Ekokurniawan, international sales manager, Luster LightTech.

Manohar said, “Having been in the industry for more than 30 years with Rotoflex, a brand known for high-speed slitting, rewinding and inspection machines, as well as advanced die-cutting systems. I am privileged to be able to take part in the company’s long and successful journey. We are proud of implementing full automation in our slitting rewinding machines. We have 6,500 installations worldwide, including Southeast Asia.”

Recalling his early days in the industry and experiences at Mark Andy, Phil said, “I entered the printing industry straight out of school when I was just 17. So far, I have completed 26 years in the industry and 11 years at Mark Andy. With accurate register control and other features, Mark Andy presses are designed for ease of use, without trained operators. Actually, we design our presses to help the converters increase the bottom line.”

Luster has been in India as one of the key principles of FIG. “It has been quite good for us to have a localised support for our customers,” Krisyanto said, adding that the company has introduced quite a number of machines with 100% inspection, specifically for the label and packaging sectors. For the label industry, Luster has several solutions like inline workflow, offline inspection, etc.

In his concluding note, Roy said that today, the industry is looking for machines and technologies that improve the internal processes to help operators run the machines at ease and adoption of advanced solutions like ERP, which many convertors in the client list of FIG are increasingly adopting. “The time has changed as the industry is on the way to revolutionary and ultramodern machines and technologies for printing, production, automation, finishing, and other processes, which we have all under our roof,” he concluded.
