The acquisition was announced on 12 November.

EFI acquired Spain-based Inèdit Software in the summer of 2022, and it became part of its EFI Reggiani operation.

EFI said the sale was part of its strategy to focus on its core business of industrial printers and inks. EFI Reggiani will continue to be an Inèdit OEM partner, in the same way as Fiery has for packaging and display graphics.

The Fiery business was spun out of EFI in early 2023, and was subsequently acquired by Japanese manufacturer Epson last year in a $568.7m deal (around £445m at the time).

EFI CEO Frank Pennisi said, “With this transaction, Fiery will now support our textile business as well, enabling EFI to focus on its core businesses of systems, production software, and ink.

“In addition, as part of Fiery, LLC, Inèdit will be able to take advantage of additional growth opportunities. We believe this transaction brings strong benefits to both companies while ensuring continued availability of software products that are important to the textile printing industry.”

Fiery CEO Toby Weiss said that Inèdit’s specialist software for textile applications including direct-to-fabric and dye-sublimation had “always impressed us”.

“With this acquisition, Fiery can now expand its industry-leading print software solutions portfolio into a wider range of applications – making Fiery a true one-stop-shop for all digital production print providers.”

The Inèdit range of software range includes RIP software neoStampa; Adobe Photoshop plug-in package neoTextil; workflow and design organisation tool neoCatalog; and colour matching with neoMatch.

Fiery said it planned to maintain the Inèdit brand identities, partner and customer bases while exploiting synergies with Fiery’s established expertise across device integration, colour and job management, and DFE performance.

Inèdit works with a large range of specialist distributors around the world and has partnerships with “many” of the leading printing machinery manufacturers and textile industry companies.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. It is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to complete before the end of this year.
