What’s new this year?

The 2018 edition has two new categories owing to the rise in the packaging segment. The earlier category Packaging Converter of the Year (general) has been changed to Packaging Converter of the Year (carton) while a new category, Packaging Converter of the Year (flexible), has been added. The latter packaging category is open for flexible packaging laminates printed by flexography and gravure printing technologies. Meanwhile, the PUR-Book Maker of the Year category has been excluded.

Parksons Packaging was awarded with the coveted Printing Company of the Year for the second consecutive year in 2017 edition of the Awards. ITC PPD bagged the Packaging Company of the Year Award.

The last year’s ceremony also saw debut winners like Progressive Printing Press, Antz Innovations, Kumar Labels and Huthamaki PPL.

Ramu Ramanathan, editor of PrintWeek India, said, “If you win at the PWI Awards, it’s because your work has been evaluated by the best of the Jury which includes stakeholders of all the major print disciplines who have vetted the print works through a rigorous judging process. There’s no sponsor pressure on any of the judges to award anything for any particular reason. In addition, for the Performance Awards, we look at the financials of the entrants. It’s one of the most serious shows to enter and win.”
