Eight innovative presentations on Day Four of InkWeek

Day four of InkWeek is dedicated to PrintWeek's unique concept of Show & Tell. Eight of the latest and best in our industry from across the country: From Chakan to Udaipur; and from Kochi to Noida; and from Mehsana to an international design agency headquartered in Mumbai will be sharing their best print and packaging ideas!

InkWeek Day Four (24 March - Thursday)  Show & Tell – The User Experience will witness some brilliant presentations from seven industry stalwarts plus Ashwani Kumar Sharma, president and CEO of aseptic liquid packaging business, UFlex, one of India’s largest multinational companies in flexible packaging materials and solutions.

In four years, UFlex' Asepto has established itself as a leading aseptic liquid packaging manufacturer in India, with a growth rate of more than 100%. Today, UFlex-Asepto is manufacturing 3.5-billion packs a year. Ashwani Kumar Sharma will provide a glimpse into this journey plus share key trends; along with a glimpse into the Sanand production facility.

After which Mayuri Nikumbh, the head of design, Conran Design Group will address the gathering. 

Mayuri Nikumbh has worked on some of the leading brands like Abbott, Britannia, Eischer Polaris, Epigamia, Godrej, Heinz, Himalaya, Jubilant Foods, Mars Foods, Microsoft, Nestle, Nivea, Paperboat, PepsiCo, TATA, Uber, Voot, Zydus and many more. She has led award-winning projects and contributed to the success of startups as well as well established brands.

This will be followed by a Show & Tell by Sahil Girish Rao, director, Akruti Print Solutions & Unbox. 

Pune-based Sahil Rao started his journey in print back in 2011. Sahil studied print-making with a family in a small town of Germany called Biberach. After getting hands-on experience with the traditional print techniques, he returned to India to take over the family owned business. After working in the Commercial Printing business for about a year, he thought of exploring new areas to maintain the required growth and innovation of the company. This is when he founded Unbox - A bespoke luxury packaging company.

That's what Rao will share with us.

After which we will see a presentation by KG Sharma, director, Miraj Multicolour. KG Sharma will join InkWeek from Udaipur. A commerce graduate and associated with Miraj Group for the last 25 years. He established the packaging and printing business of the group. Today, Miraj Multicolour is expecting to notch a turnover of Rs. 150 crore from the packaging & print business.

After which Shail Patel, director, Gujarat Print Pack Publication shall present a Show & Tell. Shail Patel holds a print media degree from Rochester Institute. He is the third generation of the Patel family to join the print business, which was founded by Patel’s grandfather Ambubhai, and his son Ashish in 1994. Gujarat Print Pack Publication which started as a small printing and publishing company has today grown to be one of the leading packaging companies of Gujarat. The company operates from two plants in Mehsana in Gujarat, and is equipped with offset and flexo presses; a slew of inspection, converting and finishing equipment.

Patel is deploying his print media degree from Rochester Institute as a peg to make the most of the technology and peers. Since joining the business in 2013, he has taken charge of most of the packaging and labelling side of the business. The company has recently established a label company in Kenya. For Shail Patel, innovation is an essential element in print. This is what he shall share.

The next speaker is: Anoop Venugopal, technical director, Anaswara Offset who will be joining us from Kochi. Anoop  is a technocrat, B.E. Printing Technology from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal and topped up with an MBA from Kingston University, London.

Anaswara Offset, is a 40 year old professionally managed printing & packaging company with two manufacturing units. Anaswara was Awarded the Best Printer of the Year - 2019 by AIFMP for excellence in quality printing. Anoop is also part of the syllabus committee, which helps in technical training of young students for additional skill acquisition program (Kerala Government). Anoop has been a G7 Expert and he likes to spread knowledge for the betterment of all stakeholders in the Industry. Also he is on the advisory board of Future Schoolz, Cochin, an organisation which works in making "print exciting for young millenials".

The penultimate speaker will be Ramit Bhatnagar, chief operating officer, MJ Global, a leading paper and corrugated packaging company that is part of his family business. The company serves prestigious clients across sectors

Previously, Ramit was the Country Head-India at a San Francisco headquartered education technology company backed by Venture Capitalists. Prior to that, Ramit was a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company where he advised clients across sectors on growth strategy and cost optimisation. He was selected as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. Trivia about Ramit: He is a national-level table tennis player.

And the final Show & Tell will be by Parkson Packaging's Jayant Madrikar who will join us from Chakan. Armed with a  M.Sc (Chemistry), diploma in Materials Management (GDMM) from Indian Institute of Materials Management – Nagpur, Certified IQA ISO QA System, Certified Instructional designer from (Symbiosis Pune), PG Diploma in Personal Management and Industrial Relations, Mardikar is DGM (Materials) at Parksons Packaging  

Mardikar will share his thoughts about QA, product development and sourcing.
