The initiative to encourage peer-to-peer sales of pre-loved items adds to their mission of embracing sustainability as a core brand intent

Chumbak was founded in 2010 by husband-wife duo, Shubhra and Vivek, with an intent to bring contemporary Indian design to your everyday home and lifestyle. Today, their design mission has evolved to showcase cultures and artforms from India and across the world in unique, joyful handwriting. Their production units encourage local manufacturing, allowing for better quality control while positively impacting community livelihoods.

The initiative to encourage peer-to-peer sales of pre-loved items adds to their mission of embracing sustainability as a core brand intent. While the industry is seeing apparel at the forefront, Chumbak hopes to add to the product assortment by encouraging customers to list laptop sleeves, bags, watches, cushion covers and furnishing.

Vasant Nangia, CEO, Chumbak, said, “Chumbak was born as a brand that manufactured in small, mindful batches. Over the years, we’ve kept our inventory forecasting conservative to avoid overproduction and wastage. With Relove, we’re taking our commitment to conservation a step further by enabling our customers to sell their preloved Chumbak products on our platform.”

Kirti Poonia, co-founder, Relove, added, “We are so honored to be Chumbak’s chosen partner to power their resale initiative. With advanced technology, newer sustainable models are possible in retail. This is a big step towards reducing the brand's carbon footprint while helping its customers.”
