Borderless printing from Epson

Epson showed a modification package for its Stylus Pro GS6000 printer that enables the device to produce borderless, edge-to-edge output.

According to Duncan Fergusson, dircetor of C&I / Prographics: "Wallpaper printing is the obvious application, but pop-up spider displays are another – basically anything where the output needs to be laid precisely next to each other."

In addition, Epson developed a new Media Qualification Program (right now relevant for Europe) to allow third-party substrates for the GS6000 to be approved and profiled. Epson has worked with independent QA company Color Concepts to implement the system.

Also, Epson added a new Production Media range of low-cost substrates to its offering, incorporating point-of-sale and CAD media, providing a cost-effective alternative to its high-end professional media range. These subsrates are relevant for canvas, pp film, textiles, scrim banner and self-adhesive vinyl.
