Book Printer of the Year (Specialty) 2015: Jak Printers
Quality Awards |
07 Oct 2015 | By PrintWeek India
Jak Printers returns to win the Book Printer the Year Award after a gap of two years, this time in the Specialty category. The Book Award, split into two two years ago, saw Jak pick up the trophy for its books – Changing Skylines, 50 Influences, Royal Recipes from the Taj Grand Palaces, and 4th Dimension Architecture. These pieces are not your typical hard-case bound books, but the impressive work on the hard-case cover teased the judges into peering inside the books.
For example, the hot-foil stamping and screen printed cover of 4th Dimension Architecture and the text, screen printed and debossed on the cover of 50 Influences were “work of great skill, which were elegant, consistent, colourful and clean throughout,” said the judges.
Jak used its Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 seven- and six-colour presses, using Heidelberg’s Prinect and CTP Suprasetter to fire plates. Jayraj’s Tango Classic White, Transasia’s Emote and Sinarmas Royal Matt Art from BILT, Sun Imitilin, Sappi’s Magno Satin and Natural shade Maplitho papers were used to produce the books.
Established in 1984 in a modest building, Jak has, over a period of time, established a solid reputation for its uncompromising stand on quality, providing services ranging from concept, designing/layouts and artworks to scanning, proofing to printing and finishing.
