Blaze destroys Lemit Papers godown in Morbi
A fire broke out at a paper godown on the Halvad-Malviya highway in Gujarat’s Morbi. The fire transpired in a factory called Lemit Paper Mill near Aniyari Toll Plaza.

As per initial reports on a paper technical group, the fire broke out at 3 pm on 4 May (Sunday). Flames swept through the Lemit warehouse on 4 May, with fire crews called out to extinguish the blaze, and relief crews monitoring the scene overnight.
As per initial reports, the employees of the Lemit paper mill tried to extinguish the fire with hand tools. Later, the Morbi Fire Brigade was informed, and a team of firefighters rushed to the spot. But since the fire was uncontrollable, a call was issued. A joint operation started an exercise to extinguish the fire.
As per a report, 24 hours after the fire settled down on 5 May (Monday), the loss has been estimated at Rs 40 crore. Approximately 20,000 tons of waste paper have been burned.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire also remains unknown.
