C N Ashok, managing director and CEO, AutoPrint said, "We believe there is tremendous potential in the Indian packaging segment and in order to better capitalise on this growing sector, we have ventured into post-press. Our new automated inspection system is the latest addition to our post-press arsenal."
Ashok said, "We have always tried to identify the needs of the industry and accordingly provide solutions. For example, manual die-punching was the most accident prone area in printing factories, so we built an automatic die-punching machine. We saw a need for automated inspection system and we are launching it."
Ashok though warned against unnecessary automation in a industry like the Indian print industry where cheap manual labour is still readily available. "Automation should be justified. The investment in automation should provide an equivalent leap in quality or enhance the speed of production to be an economically profitable option." Ashok concluded.
Apart from the inspection machine, AutoPrint is also showcasing Dion 450+, the four-colour offset press and Reckoner VDP 65 variable data printing machine, Fine Coat 80+ UV / aqueous coater and Repetto 65 V2 automatic die punching machine.
