ARS Graphics installs Kodak Tiger platesetter at its Shahadra unit

Pre-press bureau ARS Graphics has invested in a Kodak Tiger (400 Quantum) platesetter after experiencing a significant change in line demand of its customers.

The Shahadra-based firm from New Delhi with another unit in GT Karnal Road caters to printers in an around New Delhi.

Today, the firm fires around 20,000 plates per month on an average, up from 15,000-odd plates per month before installation of the Kodak platesetter.

"We have experienced a marked increase in our production of plates and clientele following the installation," said Sunil Singh Chauhan, owner of ARS Graphics. "Besides our existing clients are also a satisfied lot as they have reported improved quality of colour prints."

The Kodak CTP has been supplied by Insight Print Communications, the New Delhi-based dealer for Kodak products.

"After carefully examining the market we settled on the best," said Chauhan. "The CTP and Kodak’s after sale services have really been satisfactory so far, the speed is tremendous as it processes 60 plates of the finest quality per hour."

Chauhan started the pre-press bureau with manual planning and platemaking way back in 1995 with a Scitex Dolev 800 imagesetter before moving into platesetter technology with Monotech Basysprint CTCP a year and a half ago.

The 60-employee firm has an annual turnover of Rs 2-crore.
