Upadhyay: The EFI H652 can run special ink for thermoforming purposes

“The EFI H652 can run special ink for thermoforming purposes. As a result, the print is passed through the thermoforming process and the ink does not crack,” claimed Ujjwala Upadhyay, brand manager at Arrow Digital.

In India, the thermoforming jobs are carried out using the screen printing process. “The EFI H652 gives the users the benefit of UV inks, of course at a cost, but will take much lesser time to print, prints high-quality, and reduces waste,” explained Upadhyay.

The H652 is a four-feet machine, which can print at a speed of 200 sqft per hour. The CMYK plus white printer is fitted with Toshiba printheads and the prints have a life of three years, which can be enhanced further with coatings.

At the show, Arrow introduced the EFI Pro 32r, CMYK plus an optional white or clear ink, an entry-level machine.

“EFI has a high-end machines in its portfolio. This one will allow EFI to penetrate the low-end of the market. The Pro 32r is ideally suited for print application where varnishing is needed in applications such as wallpapers and indoor decorations,” said Upadhyay.

In 2019, Arrow sold three EFI wide-format presses, the lastest installed at Jayna Packaging. Arrow has also introduced a new PVC-free board, which it is calling as Greenboard, an alternative to sunboards. The boards are manufactured at a new plant adjacent to its existing demo centre in Ahmedabad. The plant has a capacity to produce 20-lakh sqm greenboard per year, claimed Upadhyay
