Asgar Kothawala of Almats Branding Solutions said, “We have been planning to shift to short-run printing for a while now. With the move of our facility, we decided to add the infrastructure. We have multiple requirements for digital proofs and short-run prints, and we feel we can easily convert commercial jobs up to a print run of 300 to open capacity on our offset fleet.”

Kothawala said this is the company’s first association with Xerox, and the experience has been pleasant. “We have had a nice experience with Xerox in terms of the machine offering, quality of printing and post-sale service of the machine,” he said.

He said the company experimented with other digital presses as well but Xerox suited the requirements perfected. Also, Kothawala said, the company chose Xerox due to its market dominance and reputation.

“The new investment will open up our capacities on sheetfed and that was the key reason for this acquisition,” he added.

In the industry for six decades, Almats Branding Solutions spent its early years in packaging and then shifted focus to commercial printing, retail visibility and corporate gifting.

The company caters to corporate clientele to service their marketing collateral requirements. Its key customers include Mahindra, Tata Motors, VW; Yes Bank, IDBI, Fullerton, among others.

The company’s average print run is 300 to 300,000 in a day. The company’s 55,000-sqft space boasts of Heidelberg and Ryobi printing machines with an assortment of finishing and binding machines, plus, the Xerox Versant 280.

Post-installation, Kothawala said, the Xerox Versant 280, has been running to its fullest capacity. In fact, the company still feels the need to outsource. Kothawala said the company will soon add to its digital setup.
