"Our aim is to promote print, publishing and packaging innovation in various sectors. Our aim is to ensure this message is passed onto brands, design agencies and publishers. Post-Covid the industry has bounced back and is seen as providing essential solution to many of the modern problems, especially sustainability and circular economy, food waste and save food, and e-commerce," Sudhanva Jategaonkar, who is the B2B business head at Haymarket SAC Publishing (India) said.

Associate editor at PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? magazines Rahul Kumar added, "That’s why we encourage all the companies in India to benefit from this opportunity to promote their work by competing with the best of the best on a neutral, unbiased platform." Kumar said, a testimony to this during the last few Award editions, there have been an extraordinary number of first-time award winners.

The expectation is that the 2023 edition of the Awards will surpass the record of the 2022 edition. The previous edition registered a thousand award entries, from 112 companies including CDC Printers, Nutech Print Services, Pragati Offset, Manipal Technologies, Kumar Printers, Trigon Digipack, Any Graphics, Viraj Prints and more.fwor

Noel D'cunha, managing editor for PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? said, "The response to the 13th PrintWeek Awards has been heartening. The entries our Awards team has received so far have been showcasing India's exceptional contributions to the world of printing and packaging. This is a reaffirmation of the innovation and the quest for excellence that defines our industry."

D'cunha added, "In order to accommodate the flurry of last-minute entries, we are thrilled to announce an extension of the entry deadline to 25 September 2023. This extension aims to provide print firms, label converters and packaging companies the necessary time to present their achievements on the grand stage of the PrintWeek Awards."

Sudhanva Jategaonkar added, "The continuous updating of the PrintWeek Awards, according to the international standards, is an indicator of the importance of science and technology and innovation. Our attempt is to recognise and encourage professionals to go beyond, to engage with brands and design offices for greater possibilities."

This year, there will be a Jury Week in the month of October. The specially selected judges, all leading print buyers or experts in their chosen fields, will examine literally hundreds of submissions to come up with what they think represents the very best the Indian print industry has to offer.

"Last year, according to many of the judges, the standard was higher than ever and when you combine that with a significantly increased number of entries, then just being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement,” said Noel D'cunha.
