The workshop, jointly organised by TOUCH (TechNova Open University for Change) and Wan-Ifra provided an overview of global newspaper trends in the newspaper industry.

The event in Bhubaneshwar, held at The Swosti Premium, was attended by more than 42 representatives of leading newspaper houses in the city

Attendees of the event included senior executives from Prameya, Dharitri, Sambad, Vibha Publication, The Times of India, and Nitidin, among others

At Bhubaneshwar, Anand Srinivasan, research manager, Wan-Ifra, made a detailed presentation to the delegates about ISO 12647-3 quality standards for newspaper production, and various good practices in place globally

Amit Khurana of TechNova provided insights on how a print firm can go green as well as save on costs. He explained how VioGreen Plus plates can play a key role in a print company's green journey

Khurana explained ways of achieving efficiency in production with consistent print quality, and why these aspects should become a habit and strategic objectives of an advanced newspaper house. He presented productivity enhancement software like Auto Colour Correction, OptiInk Essentials and Sublima Screening software from Agfa to the audience

The Guwahati event saw 50+ delegates in attendance. Senior executives from newspaper players like The Assam Tribune, Pratidin, Janmabhumi, ABP, Amor Assom, Adin Publication, The Shillong Times, The Assam Post were part of the event

Magdoom Mohamed, managing director, Wan-Ifra South Asia, spoke on the global trends in print and digital mediums. He explained with case-studies, how successful companies have transformed themselves to adapt to the digital technology
