India at London Book Fair 2016
The mood was upbeat at the 45th edition of the London Book Fair, which took place on 12-14 April 2016. For one thing, it was the Bard’s 400th anniversary. For another, the sale of physical books saw a marked rise in the UK last year. The market is looking ahead to the future, and India was there to claim its share. India was represented by all major book printing firms, including Almats, IPP, Manipal, Multivista, Nutech, Parksons, Replika, Repro, Thomson Digital and Thomson Press. Rajn

The Multivista stall | The director of Chennai’s book printing major, R Karthik, recently told PrintWeek India, “We are confident about the growing demand for our specialised offering in book printing.” Multivista Global recently added a Heidelberg Suprasetter 106 CTP to its sprawling facility in Chennai. The company also installed the Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102 8-P, a remarketed eight-colour press from Heidelberg India. As Karthik said, the company wants to be the best in school book printing

As one of the top publishers puts it, the company can produce 4,000 pages, four-colour, four hardback volumes in less than ten days. The company recently added a new facility near its existing site in Kundli, which which has a separate space for hardcover and soft cover books
The Repro India stall | The PrintWeek India Green Printing Company 2015 is poised to conquer the global market. Last October, the company signed a deal with Ingram Content Group to bring its print-on-demand service, Lightning Source, to India. Repro is Ingram’s Global Connect print provider, giving publishers from across the world the ability to make content available through local print-on-demand and distribution facility in India
