Star Product: Fastback 20

Powis Parker’s Fastback 20 is a multi-purpose binding machine, which is represented in India by Neopost. Powis Parker is a US-based book binding equipment manufacturer. Launched at Pamex 2013, the machine can bind books with the help of a specially customized strip, of medium to large quantities from 10 to 350 sheets within a span of 13-20 seconds. The machine has 3 sizes of strips depending on the thickness of the books.

According to Saurabh Johri, general manager, Neopost India, the model is a new innovation and popular worldwide. “The machine will be helpful for the customers in making professional-looking presentations, yearbooks or bound documents within a fraction of time,” says Johri.
 
The machine is a full-featured multipurpose machine that can handle tape-binding, perfect binding and hardcover binding. It can take up paper stock from 80 to 120gsm. The spine thickness can be narrow, medium or wide. “The unique feature about the machine is the strength of the binding that can be achieved closest to commercial binding,” adds Johri. “This will be of also help in making quick mock-ups of bound samples,” adds Johri.
 
“Fastback is a high productivity and high quality machine which can reduce the turnaround times and costs. For a medium-size investment these are huge benefits,” says Johri.
 
Neopost India has had some serious enquiries for Fastback 20 during the four-day Pamex which according to Johri was never expected compared to their past experiences.
