Monotech Systems commands attention with its expanded Jetsci digital portfolio, combining track-and-trace software, hybrid print integration and digital embellishment technologies. Managing director TP Jain says the show reinforces how converters are investing in traceability, automation and decorative finishing to stay competitive in a transforming print landscape. Jain describes the moment as both a validation and a transition.
“We are showing our new offerings here while building on the success of the existing Jetsci range, which includes label and embellishment presses as well as hybrid printing solutions with installations in more than 25 countries,” he says. The response, he adds, has been encouraging across all fronts.
Smarter traceability solutions
Track-and-trace remains at the centre of Monotech’s showcase. The company’s cloud-enabled Jetsci software suite expands its footprint with live applications in multiple geographies. “Jetsci is a track-and-trace software solution already deployed worldwide, working with partners such as Jura and live in countries implementing TechStamp projects,” Jain explains.
The platform now includes four integrated modules that cover authenticity verification, multi-level aggregation, customer engagement and a secure cloud backbone. Jain points out that even smaller converters can adopt the solution without heavy IT infrastructure. “A small printer or manufacturer can onboard without investing heavily in hardware or software, while large enterprises can deploy a full on-premise version if required,” he notes.
The momentum from Barcelona strengthens Monotech’s expansion plans. “The feedback from existing partners and new visitors makes us really confident to go to the next level,” Jain says. Strengthening supply chain security, Jetsci’s traceability system now works in tandem with hardware that prints non-clonable QR codes directly on press. Jain says this capability makes supply chains transparent end-to-end.
“We generate non-clonable QR codes printed directly on the shop floor. Once the product leaves the factory, the codes activate, and the journey is tracked through distributors, warehouses and the final customer,” he explains. The real-time data reveals any mismatch between dispatch and arrival. “If 100 units leave the factory and only 90 are scanned in the warehouse, the system flags it immediately,” Jain says.
Monotech is now testing RFID integration to close the loop on item-level tracking. “Once we integrate RFID, the system will identify discrepancies at a more granular level,” he adds.
Digital embellishment gains ground
Alongside security, Monotech is pushing its Pixel Glow series of digital embellishment systems, allowing printers to add spot UV, foil and textured effects in-line. Jain calls embellishment “a bigger and better opportunity,” reflecting a strategic shift toward higher-value applications.
“While we have a good label printing product, competition is intense,” he says. “Our focus is moving toward areas where we are different and where the opportunity is larger,” Jain adds that embellishment is now central to how printers can stay profitable amid shrinking print volumes and rising SKUs. “The only way for printers to remain profitable is to add more value,” he says. He acknowledges sustainability as a parallel concern but argues that creativity and differentiation sustain the print business. “What remains must be more impactful and carry value addition,” he says.
Market realism and growth
Jain sees the digital label market in India maturing but not expanding in volume. “We still remain around 15 to 20 machines a year, which is a matter of concern,” he admits. However, he views the rise of embellishment and hybrid systems as offsetting that plateau. By targeting sectors where speed, security and aesthetics intersect, Monotech can build growth even in a stable market.
Monotech now advocates for digital printers to view decorative finishing as a necessity, not an add-on. “Every digital printer should have, in addition to their printer, an embellishment unit because that is where they make more money and stand out,” Jain says . For Jain, the story of Monotech’s Labelexpo presence is ultimately about convergence. The company’s strength in software-driven track-and-trace and digital embellishment shows how Indian technology manufacturers are aligning with the global move toward automation and experience-driven print. “Traceability and embellishment will define the next phase of digital printing,” he says.
