Manipal wins top honours at 10th PrintWeek India Awards

Manipal Technologies, the three times winner in the category, took home the Prism for the Company of the Year, during the 10th edition of the PrinWeek India Awards 2018, in a gala function held at St Regis, Mumbai on 29 November 2018.

The event, attended by who's who of the printing fraternity, saw a total of 24 awards handed over to more than 20 print firms in two distinct categories, quality and performance. 

Several companies, such as Pragati, Manipal, ITC and Silverpoint managed to snag multiple wins, while the ceremony also saw several first-time winners. 

Among them, Pune-bases Prakash Ago won Packaging Company of the Year (flexible) and Mumbai's Printmann took home the Packaging Company of the Year Award in the performance category. 

The chief guest of the event was Ravi Chawla, of Gulf Oil, who in his speech highlighted the importance of packaging in the overall marketing of a product. He gave the example how on his previous job he managed to deliver an eye-catching packaging which in effect landed him the current job. 

In his welcome address, Hormazd Sorabjee, editor, Autocar, congratulated PrintWeek India for completing 10 years in the industry and promised the audience that the magazine is going to engage with its readers and the industry as a whole in more meaningful and diverse way in the coming days. 

Famous film and theatre actor Denzil Smith hosted the event which saw him reciting Limericks to introduce the winners.
