Suresh Babu, director, A B Screens said, “I am delighted to receive the award and it was a proud moment to represent India among the worlds best screen printers.” He further added, “It is due to our hardwork, accuracy and constantly upgrading ourselves in terms of technology which has helped us to achieve the title.”
The second prize was awarded to Australia-based Cactus Imaging Australia and Turkey-based European T-shirt Factory won the third prize. The Hall of Fame title aims to highlight printers who have pioneered a new approach, technology or innovations from around the world.
The winners are selected on basis of the number of votes received over a period of time and receive a host of benefits like VIP invitations to global Fespa events as well as discounted conference or summit delegate places.
Babu, who hails from a family of artists, started his career as a designer and eventually invested in screen printing press to reproduce the designs created, Babu said, “We decided to invest in printing press which was a natural progression as the designs we created were not reproduced accurately and as desired when printed by others,”
A B Screens has seven imported screen printing machine from MHM and Sroque and three curing units. The firm caters to the textile industry and specialises in t-shirt printing and has around 125 employees. A B Screens had also won a gold medal at Fespa 2010, for the 3D special effect print on a t-shirt.
