Sai Paper scales production with Bindwel automation

Maharashtra-based Sai Paper Industries says its investment in a Bindwel BW2500 system has improved binding speed, reduced manual intervention, and strengthened production quality for large educational publishing contracts.

Sangamner-based Sai Paper Industries has expanded its book production and binding capabilities following the installation of a Bindwel BW2500 perfect binding system in January 2026.

Founded in 2002 by Laxmanrao Rakhmaji Endhe, the company operates from a 7,000-sqft manufacturing facility in Sangamner, Maharashtra, with a workforce of 25 employees.

Sai Paper Industries specialises in educational books, customised notebooks, and commercial printing, serving schools, educational institutions, and distribution networks across Maharashtra.

The company currently operates a mix of sheetfed offset presses, printing, cutting, binding, creasing, lamination, and post-press equipment, with binding operations managed fully in-house since 2004.

According to the company, it produces between 3,00,000 and 7,00,000 books and notebooks per month while handling approximately 25 to 30 customers monthly. The facility primarily works with 57-gsm, 60-gsm, 70-gsm, and 90-gsm paper stocks.

Before investing in Bindwel automation, Sai Paper Industries said maintaining binding quality and meeting delivery schedules for large-volume orders were key operational challenges.

“Maintaining consistent binding quality while increasing production speed for large orders was our biggest challenge,” the company stated.

The company said it began looking for an automated bookbinding solution to improve production speed, reduce manual intervention, and enhance finishing quality.

Sai Paper Industries selected the Bindwel BW2500 system based on the company’s reputation within the Indian print industry, along with its machine quality, operational performance, and service support.

Among the features highlighted by the company were easy machine operation and strong binding quality, which helped simplify operator handling while improving repeat order consistency.

Since installation, the company has reported improvements in production speed, labour reduction, waste control, and turnaround efficiency.

“Our workflow has improved, manual work has reduced, and production speed has increased,” the company said.

Sai Paper Industries added that its current post-press workflow is now more streamlined, with improved adhesive planning and better production management across binding operations.

Among the key projects produced using the Bindwel setup are high-quality notebooks for government and private educational institutions. The company also highlighted the successful execution of large educational book orders under tight production timelines.

The company credited Bindwel’s technical support team for providing timely assistance during installation and production operations.

“We received strong technical support from installation through production, especially whenever operational issues arose,” the company stated.

Sai Paper Industries said it would recommend Bindwel systems to other printers due to the machine quality and after-sales support provided by the company.

Looking ahead, the company expects increasing demand for cost-effective, high-volume production and automation across the Indian print sector.

Over the next five to 10 years, Sai Paper Industries plans to expand its printing and binding operations further while strengthening its position in government textbook and Balbharati production.
