She also used Romancing Print as a podium for announcing the India International Printing & Packaging Fair 2014. “After a gap (from organising a print packaging industry exhibition) we launched a print packaging event in August 2013. We received support from various associations and organisations. Although, it was very small event, we intend to intensify and expand it this year. We propose to have the fair in August this year, coinciding with The Delhi Book Fair because the printing and publishing industry share a strong connection,” she said.
Satish Malhotra, chairman - Romancing Print in his address recounted the early beginnings of the conference. He explained how the mix of informative and technical sessions has helped the industry understand various aspects of the business. “There are many challenges that our industry faces. However, aggressive and active print organisations are still garnering new clients. What we need to do is to interpret the effect of changes in the marketplace and implement due corrective measures in our business strategies.”
