The renowned author is known for giving tangible form to the anguish of the marginalised through his words. He shared his joy upon receiving the honour, stating, "My literary works have received numerous awards over the years." However, the joy I feel upon receiving the Sahitya Akademi Award is impossible to describe in words."
The award, which comprises a cash prize of one lakh rupees, a copper plaque (Tamrapatra), and a shawl, also marks a significant achievement for Rajhans Prakashan. Dilip Majgaonkar, the director of Rajhans Prakashan, commented that the occasion "serves as a tribute to the distinctive quality of Rajhans Prakashan — specifically, its commitment to producing content-rich literary works of high artistic and literary merit."
This is the fourth consecutive year a Rajhans publication has received the Sahitya Akademi Award, following Mi Sandarbh Pokhartoy (2022), BrahMos (2023), and Vindanche Gadyarup (2024).
