In the past year, the gross sales have increased by 57.03% which is the highest in the category. Also there is a corresponding increase in profit before tax by 265.22% (again the highest in the category). Expenditure on staff has increased by 26.78%.

The Sanchawalas have added a five-colour offset press and a CTP kit at Progressive’s 50,000 sqft two-floor plant. This during the tough Covid period when businesses of print firms had taken a hit (anywhere between 50% and 80%).

The company, established in 1965, was using a treadle machine initially and then single-colour machines to produce four-colour jobs. Besides commercial jobs such as brochures, fashion books, and catalogues, Progressive also produces self-adhesive labels and packaging boxes.

“Surat is a textile and diamond hub. The two industries are a dominant part of our business when it comes to marketing collaterals and packaging. Textile business in Surat is worth over Rs 10,000 crores,” Asgar Sanchwala told PrintWeek.
