PrintWeek to award green printer in India

PrintWeek India will reward the most eco-friendly printing press in the country with the inaugural Green Printing Company of the Year at this year’s PrintWeek India Awards 2014 later this year.

India has woken up to the perils of climate change that has been an ever present by-product of rapid industrialisation over the last two centuries. Reducing the emission of greenhouse gases to protect the environment. Having a environmentally-friendly operations also help drastically reduce energy costs and boosts profits. 

The Hindu plant in Coimbatore has set exacting green standards. Not just that, The Hindu’s entry, in Category 1 (for coldset offset), complied with stringent Wan-Ifra standards and bagged the top prize out of 192 newspapers in the world. The plant houses a Mitsubishi DiamondSpirit which is backed by a mail room system from Ferag plus a CTP violet system from Agfa.

PrintWeek India rates this plant as one of the top green plants in India.
