Excise duty on machinery used in processing and packaging of agricultural, horticultural, dairy and poultry products is reduced, since same machinery is used for the packaging and wrapping of other products, it may lead to confusion, such reduction of duty is required for all kind of products.

I believe this is overall a positive budget. Given that the fortunes of printing packaging industry have been intricately linked with the overall economic climate, the future looks bright. The focus on infrastructure, deficit reduction and putting more spending power in the hands of young professionals along with several consumption friendly policies should hold overall economy in good steed.
Nice to see the print media continuing to be free of service tax. Reduction of excise duty on food processing should help flexo packaging industry. Indian economy has always been driven by the SME segment, so I was happy to see boost to this industry.
