The demonstration provided an insight on Kodak's UWS, the pre-press solution for commercial as well as packaging printers. The UWS includes Prinergy workflow, Preps imposition software, ColorFlow software, Insite pre-press portal etc.
Kamath said, "UWS leverages the entire chain, from print buyers to production to pressroom. Prinergy Connect, a part of UWS, which has an Oracle database, is a PDF-based workflow and has a rule-based automation. It can track and report the current status of the job and also reduce error and wastage."
According to Kodak, the unified workflow solutions offer increased automation for improved productivity and resource allocation by implementing workflow and web-based collaborative client software that will enable the press owner to gain efficiencies, counter increasing price pressure and demand for faster turnarounds and short runs.
