The top slot of the 2026 edition of the annual Power 100 list went to Gautam Pai of Manipal Technologies. Other industry leaders who rounded up the top 10 include Monica Malhotra Khandari of MBD Group, Ramesh Kejriwal of Parksons Packaging, Saket, Akshay and Vidur Kanoria of TCPL Packing, Narendra, Harsha and Hemanth Paruchuri of Pragati Group, Cherian K Thomas of ITC’s Packaging and Printing Business, Hemendra, Lokesh and Amit Agarwal of Miracle Group of Companies, Hemant Bakshi of EPL, Kamal Tanjera of Huhtamaki India and CJ Jassawala of Thomson Press.
Noel D’Cunha, managing editor at PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? Said, “The clearest trend defining the sector is the strategic pivot away from commoditised print toward higher-margin, differentiated capabilities. This reflects a conscious choice for profitability and long-term relevance over volume-driven expansion at any cost.”
Under Ramesh Kejriwal, Parksons Packaging has deepened its commitment to paper-based solutions, staying away from plastic-led packaging and emphasising that focus itself can be a growth strategy. Similarly, TCPL Packaging, led by the Kanorias, is pursuing a measured expansion centred on return on capital and pricing discipline, rather than “aggressive capacity chasing”. Companies like Miracle Group are following a philosophy of “depth over breadth,” consciously stepping back from price-centric segments where creativity and innovation have limited scope.
Another highlight of the May issue of PrintWeek is the announcement of the winners of the Women to Watch Awards 2026.
All the 18 winners from the fourth edition of the Women to Watch initiative will be felicitated at the Leaders and Legends event. A panel discussion moderated by Sai Deepthi Pavani will feature the Women to Watch 2026 winners.
The second edition of Bharat Print Expo opened at the Chennai Trade Centre on 27 April with a message that South India’s print industry is ready to be taken seriously. Read the report by Jiya Somaiya, Noel D’Cunha, and Sai Deepthi in the Exhibition section.
In the Factory section, Rahul Kumar visited Katsura Roller India’s Haryana-based plant in Faridabad and found that the company is building a culture of precision, discipline, and long-term quality.
