Plastic ban: A practical move?

As cyclone Ockhi crossed Mumbai in the intervening night of 4 and 5 December, it left behind 80,000 kg of garbage which was washed ashore the city’s shoreline by the cyclonic storm. It’s the nature’s way to warn about the impending danger. Can plastic ban solve the issue?
