Navneet inks MoU with IIT Gandhinagar to boost AI literacy

Navneet Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) at the IndiaAI 2026 Summit.

The MoU is aimed at embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) education into India’s school ecosystem. The partnership is being hailed as a decisive step in democratising AI literacy by combining Navneet’s classroom reach with IITGN’s academic depth.

Under the agreement, Navneet AI will expand its footprint beyond the 500 schools and 2,000 teachers it already engages across 14 states. The collaboration will focus on four pillars — teacher empowerment, curriculum development, student outreach, and national innovation initiatives.

IITGN faculty will conduct virtual AI training sessions for educators, simplifying complex concepts and exposing them to applied AI use cases. The emphasis is on preparing teachers before classrooms adopt AI tools, ensuring they can guide students responsibly.

“Real transformation begins by empowering educators,” said Harshil Gala, president, CBSE and EdTech, Navneet.

Navneet will author AI textbooks and learning resources, with IITGN experts validating pedagogy and accuracy. Each textbook will feature an IIT Gandhinagar Corner offering expert insights. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), which calls for embedding emerging technologies into school curricula.

Students from Grades 3–10 will benefit from annual virtual AI sessions delivered by IITGN students. The aim is to move learners from passive technology users to responsible innovators. “AI education must begin early and be rooted in strong fundamentals,” noted Prof Amit Prashant, dean, external relations, IITGN.

Navneet’s product labs will host IITGN students working on live business challenges, guided by industry mentors. In addition, a nationwide AI hackathon will be co-organised to inspire practical solutions to real-world problems, encouraging innovation and collaboration among young learners.

The MoU is expected to bridge India’s AI capability gap by prioritising teacher readiness and integrating academic excellence with classroom reach. It also supports national goals of preparing students for a technology-driven future.
