In the era where people are shifting from books to eBooks, there are particular segments of the printing industry, which is flourishing. Digital labels, being one of them, have seen a good demand in the past decade as it is quick, economical and has better printability. The round table conference had 10 delegates with knowledgeable inputs on the technology, equipment, design and innovation in digital labels, material and substrate selection and market trends.
Vijay Kamat of Konica Minolta said, “The overall reduction in wastage is commendable on the digital machines. Digitalisation has eliminated the cost and wastage incurred due to paper, ink, blanket and cylinders during registration.”
“On a digital machine, the only wastage is during the initial setting which has been recorded to be 70 to 80 linear metres,” added Kamat.
