Bhargava said the benefits of NB-330 include cost-effective solution for short to medium runs and digital label jobs, quick setup, higher output, and better cutting accuracy than flat dies, and higher uptime for presses.
Talking to PrintWeek India, Bhargava said as the market remains buoyant, the label industry in India will witness a growth of about 10-15%, most of which will be in conversion of cut and stack to PS. “On future opportunities, we will see mid-level brands competing with top-tier brands,”Bhargava said. “There will also be a market for high quality/high value-added labels, especially in alcoholic beverage segment.”
What about new technologies? Bhargava said the company has two patents (pending) regarding material concepts that may change the way labels are produced today, adding, “Our conversion equipment NB-330 is gradually gaining momentum in India.”
Bhargava said smaller capex and quicker payment recovery are important to further the growth of the label industry. “Why should printers offer credit when base materials are bought with advance payments?”
Kumar Labels is also focused on innovations in label stock. “We make specialty label stocks. We are currently working on a technology that would make PS labels more affordable and eco-friendly,”Bhargava said.
The company has sold eight machines in overseas market and will be opening its account in India soon.
